Citrus Land Classification

Citrus operations must meet size, planting, and management standards to qualify for agricultural classification.

Minimum Size Requirement

Property must be a minimum of 5 acres in size.

Planting and Management

  • Land must be planted by January 1st.
  • Proper care and maintenance must be clearly evident.
  • A detailed description of the citrus variety, number of plantings, and trees per acre must be on file with the Property Appraiser’s Office.

Other Uses (Case by Case)

Operations such as poultry, swine, horses, rabbits, fisheries, etc., will be evaluated individually. Production for personal use does not qualify for agricultural classification.
